Diversified Technique

Woman getting adjustedOne of the many adjustment styles we use at Outback Chiropractic Clinic is Diversified. This hands-on approach allows Dr. Gleeson to manually adjust your spinal bones into their proper position. Diversified can be successful in helping patients across the spectrum return to living the life they love naturally!

How Does It Help?

This technique is designed to get joints that are stiff, inflamed, or painful moving again. Diversified can effectively address the most common spinal problems, such as lower back pain, mid back pain, neck pain, and headaches.

What to Expect

The first step is to perform an analysis of your spine, which can initially involve a case history and X-ray pictures of your spine.

Subsequent visits may include motion palpation, with Dr. Gleeson feeling the spinal joints move as you turn and bend. Or, he may perform a leg check to reveal an imbalance in the neck or lower spine.

When joints that aren’t functioning properly are identified, a specific manual thrust is performed. The direction, speed, depth and angle used are the result of years of experience, practice and thorough understanding of spinal mechanics.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will I get relief from pain or symptoms?

There is no one answer, as everyone responds differently. Some people recover quickly (e.g. after one adjustment), while others can take longer to respond.

What’s the one thing you want patients to know about the technique?

“It’s also called ‘normal chiropractic’, and it’s the one we are taught in college. Most practitioners use it,” said Dr. Gleeson.

Does it hurt to get adjusted with this method?

This type of adjustment is typically painless. Most patients find adjustments relaxing and relieving. The energy delivered during the thrust may produce a slight “popping” sound from the shifting of gas and fluids in the joint.

How Diversified Helped One of Our Patients

One of Dr. Gleeson’s patients had severe lower back pain. She would go to Las Vegas with her husband and stay in the motel room and read magazines, because it hurt too much to get up and move around. Dr. Gleeson used Diversified to adjust her lower back joints, and she responded well. The patient experienced excellent results and expressed that she couldn’t describe how much the care had improved her life.
